Sonnie James is joining the Potomac Highlands District United Methodist Church office as an Administrative Assistant. She comes to us from her current position at Potomac Valley Hospital, where she has worked as a Medical Laboratory Technician. She is a 2001 graduate from the MLT program at Fairmont State College and holds a 2013 Regents Bachelor’s Degree from Glenville State College. She left her position of sixteen years as a lab tech at Braxton County Memorial Hospital to move to the Potomac Highlands in the summer of 2017 with her husband Mark James. Mark currently serves Romney First United Methodist Church and one of five historic African-American churches of this district, Mt Pisgah. Her granddaughter, Baiyanah McCraw-Jones also lives with Sonnie and Mark and attends Romney Middle School. Sonnie has two daughters, Autumn McCraw and Hollie McCraw, who reside in Charleston WV. Sonnie enjoys learning about and trying to create quilts. She also enjoys playing the mountain dulcimer.
