Onboarding with Bishop Wallace-Padgett

What is Onboarding?
The WVUMC has been using onboarding in many of our churches to assist new pastors in getting to know their new congregations and getting to know them well. This has been used successfully to help new bishops get acclimated quickly. The Onboarding experience allows conference leaders to articulate hopes and concerns, clarify assumptions, unpack perspectives, and identify challenges for their conference. Sometimes, those in the room are amazed at what they learn about each other. This exercise provides a deep connection in getting to know our Bishop while also allowing her to gain valuable information. The day ends with a commitment to a shared future and mutual understanding among participants and our new Bishop.
Each session will include a meal. A $10 registration fee will hold your spot.
Sessions are:
Sunday, September 15, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at St. Matthew’s UMC, 120 E. Third Street, Weston, WV
Monday, September 16, from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Daily Grind, 20 Raella Lane, Buckhannon, WV
Monday, September 16, from 2:30 pm – 7:30 pm at the Daily Grind, 20 Raella Lane, Buckhannon, WV
PS – Bishop Wallace-Padgett will also be visiting each district this fall, so if you are unable to attend onboarding, there will still be a chance to meet our new Bishop in your area. Dates, times, and locations will be announced soon!
